Summer - Oct. 2003
Dont wake me I need my beauty sleep. Yes I am spoiled this is actually where Mike and Nina sleep. I sleep right in the middle. Sometimes I wake up and my head is on the pillow and Mikes is on the pillow and so is Ninas and we're all staring at each other. That makes Mike and Nina laugh. Mostly though I do sleep in bed with them but I sleep by their feet. I like to keep Ninas freezing toesies toasty and warm.

Me loving the beach. Although each time a wave crashed I tried to bite the wave then when the water rushed up to me I got scared and ran away. The waves were scary and I always jumped when I heard them.
Maybe next summer Ill get used to them.

I love tv but it makes me so sleepy. I get so tired sometimes I just fall into the couch and pass out.

I feel much better thank you everyone for all your well wishes. Im still eating grass and throwing up a bit but I can stand now and run and play. I have quite a fondness for trash. Yummy yummy sweet trash. I love riding in the car and give so many kisses and smiles I make everyone want to hug and kiss me.

Nate is teaching me games like fetch and tug and pull. I'll try to get some recent pics up here soon. I'm so busy with my nose to the ground I hardly have time for photos.

Did you know theres doggy perfume? I tried some on at Petco I smelled like a little baby. Maybe my sweetheart Mike will suprise me with some. Its not weird for a doggy to want to smell her best is it?

I also got a new red polka dot outfit that Nina made. It makes Nina, Mike and Nate laugh. I think its silly but Im glad to see them laughing and I'll do anything to make them laugh.

YEAHHHHHHHHH! I have doubled my red blood cell count. I think it was that yummy steak Mike made me. It was so tasty. Im feeling better and the color is returning to my gums and ears. Im so happy everyone took care of me I thank them with my waggy tail and wet nose kisses.I'm still not out of the woods yet but I feel so much better!

Mike and Nina are pretty sure I am anemic :( We have researched and my vet has indicated it. If its just anemia we can do something about it. But Basenjis are prone to a certain genetic anemia. If its the genetic anemia its fatal probably within 2 years of age. Its a rare anemia but dogs with it dont live past 4. Hopefully I dont have the hereditary anemia. I'm sad and tired and hope I can continue to live :((((((( I know Mike and Nina and Nate are sad and will keep me warm and fed, Ill try to get better :)

Today I woke up sick. I couldnt even walk actually. I stand up and fall over. So Mike and Nina brought me to a doctor who took my blood and shot me with some liquid stuff. I had pea soup and I loved it!

I hope I feel better soon.

Here I am trying to sleep. I hope I wake up feeling better, Isnt my new sweater that Nina made just too cute?
