January 27 19:16 pm I called 411 for the local police number.
It was around 30 seconds to a minute after it hit.

I had put the wrong date up earlier by accident. The correct date is what was on the radar.

Hi my name is Nina Gambone.

I have had a huge ball of frozen material fall from a plane and totally demolish my car. According to the FAA, this chunk of ice is human waste from a passing airline. It hit on the load bearing part where the windshield meets the passenger door. That strip of metal is completely bent in half now. Here I will document what happened next. Since no one has come to help clean up this mess or even tell me what to do next I am at least documenting it.
The scariest thing is the plane is still out there not being fixed.

You can see which flight is over my house just prior to the time that I called information to get the local police.
If you go to the site above you can track the entire flight over my house.

No one has called me to find out what time I called information for the local police number. Nor has anyone come out to see the ice besides news crews and curious passer-by's. Nor has anyone told me what to do with the waste or my car.
My car nor home insurance will cover this.

FAA Contacts

Tony Palazzo

We were told to contact Tony, our regional FAA person and that he could direct us. We called him immediately after the police had gone and we left a message. We left a message on Saturday as well. By Sunday, we had still not received a call. Sunday night we contacted FAA headquarters and they connected us with him. We were told by him that no one was coming out to document and that he could not advise us on what to do. After we explained what we thought was was a pretty big deal and that out of state news stations had responded to the scene more quickly, he told us that it must have been a slow news day. He had no answers on the waste - now partially melted in the car. He said the fire department should have cleaned it up. How they were to know without anyone contacting them - we're not sure.

His only part in this was to call the local fire department to come clean up material. The Fire chief came out the next day at noon and said they had no intention of cleaning out the material in the car driveway. They came to collect the two chunks I had in my freezer and put them back into the car.

Tony hung up the phone on us that Sunday night and his phone number is now disconnected. Prior to the disconnection he told us to call Diane Falzone for information regarding flights.

FAA Contacts

Diane Falzone
Tony Palazzo told us to call her regarding any flight information details etc.

I called left message. Called again the next day left message. Tuesday, February 2nd on my way to work Diane called me. The FAA has told me they are recording my conversations on the phone with them, but heres how the call basically went:

D: Ahhh what's your name?
Nina Gambone

D: and why are you calling me what is your name? why should I be giving you any information
Nina Gambone, Tony Palazzo told me to call you regarding the frozen waste on my car

D: Ice? oh yes well...

She gets extremely mad - supremely mad that I am even calling her. She explains nothing is her job. Her job was to initially send in the investigation now her job is done. To call Tony. I told her his number was disconnected. She explains it is not her problem. Nothing about the falling ice is her job or her problem. I ask for another number for Tony - No. She keeps saying what do you want maam? I explain the plane is still out there and someone could be killed. Not her problem not her job.

I say ok calmly can you send me to someone to tell me what to do?
No.

On and on like this with me remaining calm her getting madder and madder and just mean. Then she sarcastically speaks to me and hangs up on me. I just wanted info on what to do -what agency to go to - anything.

February 2, 2005

I have contacted the news and state reps the mayor etc. I haven't heard what to do at this point.
I have called the FAA the NTSB the local authorities government officials everyone! If I can figure out which airline it was and why cant the FAA make the airline responsible or go and fix the plane. I am scared for everyone out there that this could happen to. This could have killed my son and myself. I don't understand at all.

Past of the car

My grandmother loved this car. She loved her little Toyota. It was a 91 and it only has 71,000 miles on it. She passed away last year and left me her car. The car was great because my car had just caught on fire on Route 2. I was coming home from a job interview and the car caught fire. Fire dept had to come out and extinguish it.

Luckily I got the job and now I work at UndercoverWear Immediately following the incident
UndercoverWear graciously donated a rental car to me for two weeks after this incident .

I am extremely grateful and hope that I can reimburse them at some point.
